AWIB’s Eighth Annual Corporate Asian Women’s Leadership Forum

– Born to Lead: Rising to the Challenge was held on June 14, 2012.

A full house of corporate Asian women listened intently as our distinguished panel of top Asian

women executives candidly shared their insights, experiences and strategies to overcome the

challenges faced by Asian women in the corporate arena.  The panelists stressed the importance of

forming strong mentor-mentee relationships, developing champions and not just sponsors, seeking

common ground with employees as well as supervisors regardless of ethnicity and gender,

recognizing and seizing advancement opportunities, and altering leadership styles to fit the needs

of individual employees.  Inspired by their stories, the audience eagerly engaged these dynamic

women in a lively Q&A session at the end of the panel discussion. The evening concluded with a

reception for networking and some one-on-one conversations with the speakers.
