Profiles of the Members of the Women Delegation from Pakistan


The Delegation of 13 women business owners was hand picked by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPE), a Government department in Pakistan, which helps business owners in the promotion of their exports globally. Their selection was based on their business track record, sound financial background and capacity to fill large orders for export. Many of the women already export to the United States and other countries and are on this trade mission to promote their products and find buyers.


The following is a brief summary of the products manufactured by the women business owners in the delegation. Their products will be on display on March 27, 2001 from 1:00 - 5:30 P.M. at the Consulate General of Pakistan, 12 East 65th Street, New York, NY 10021. They will also have time to meet with individual buyers during the exhibition and the following day.


1.     Ms. Zeenat Saboohi, Jianey Traders

Manufactures sporting goods and specializes in footballs and volleyballs. Also supplies promotional items for advertising purposes. The firm has been exporting its products to various countries.


2.     Ms. Aminah Asghar, Aminah’s Linen Collection

Amnah Linen Collection is committed to providing a wide range of value added textile goods to the growing needs of international markets. Products manufactured are bed linen, which include duvet covers, pillowcases, bed sheets and coverlets. The products are a fine blend of cotton and polyester suited for household linen and are finished with lace, ribbon or embroidery. The production facility is equipped to handle consignments of up to 35,000 units.


3. Ms. Munaza Parveen, Super Shan Enterprises


The company exports all kinds of traditional shoes, leather caps, woolen decoration cases and hand made ceramic mugs. They have the capacity to produce specially made handicrafts and leather products.


4. Ms. Fakhra Hasan, Elite Gems


The company specializes in precious and semi-precious stones and minerals i.e. Aquamarine, Tourmaline, Kunzite, Quartz, reconstructed Emerald from natural Emerald, Marble, Lapis-Turquoise, Onyx and Granite etc. These are all utilized for the preparation of jewelery and garden furniture. They cut and facet the gems, mounting them on precious metals. They also design and make 22 kt gold jewelery in Asian styles.


5.     Ms. Talat Hafeez, Tania’s Collection


Produces western and eastern apparel, which includes tops, pants, shirts, and scarves.


6.     Ms. Aasia Saail Khan, Aasia’s Designer Collection


Manufactures both women and men’s wear. Her products include formal and semi-formal blazers, executive suits, casual jackets, trousers, shirts and eastern wedding wear for men i.e. shalwar kameez, and sharwani. They have the latest cut styles in wool, cashmere and tweed.


7.     Ms. Irum Malik, Zabies Antique Style


Manufactures home decorative garden furniture, mirror frames, photo frames, table lamps, tea trolleys, stair railings and wall decoration in aluminum and wrought iron, with weather-proof paint and in antique finish and different colors.



The company is known for quality children garments and teen casual wear for the target group of kids from age 0-12. They make corduroy jeans, pinafores and jackets with hand embroidery. They recently included a range of decorative furnishings and exclusive nightwear collection for women.


12.  Ms. Tanweer Naeem, Anchal Classics


The company's products include a wide variety of completly hand embroidered ladies dresses, ranging from formal "adda-work" to "chikan-kari". The embroidery and embellishments include mirrors and sequins. The products could be made in western styles as per the buyers’ requests


13.    Ms. Samina Fazal, Berries


Manufactures children’s clothes especially for new born babies and top of the line dresses for young girls. The range includes layettes i.e cots, bedding and other accessories. Special emphasis is paid to comfort, design, beauty and safety for the child.



8.     Ms. Tanzeela Yousaf, Aiwa Apparel Jewelry


Specializes in silver and gem-studded jewelry and deals in semi-precious stones.


9.      Ms. Imbisat Usman, Rano’s Heirlooms


Produces a wide range of embroidered cushions, throws and tapestries, using velvet and raw silk.


10.   Ms.Rubina Waqar, Rubina’s Collection


Produces bed and table linen in block and other prints. They also make hand woven small rug runners and cushions and wall hangings.


11.   Ms.Kauser Javed Zia, Saks Krayons
