Over 50 restaurants, bakeries, tea houses, and specialty shops offered $1.00 and $2.00 tasting plates. Visitors sampled a dazzling array of dishes and marveled at the selections from Canton, Shanghai, Beijing, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Also on the menu were delicacies from Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and Japan, all in one afternoon.
Tasting stations were spread across the heart of Chinatown, on Mott, Mulberry, Baxter, Bayard, Pell, and Mosco. Every street led to delicious discoveries and anyone who toured the entire Taste of Chinatown route got the full breadth of tempting offerings.
At $1.00 and $2.00 a plate, what more could you have asked for? Well, other than when the next Taste of Chinatown would be held.
