AWIB Annual Procurement Opportunities Conference:
For Minority and Women-owned Business Owners
New York, NY (May 12, 2009) - Asian Women In Business (AWIB) will hold its Annual Procurement Opportunities Conference for Minority/Women-owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs) on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the Bank of New York Mellon, 101 Barclay Street, 10th Floor, New York, NY from 8:30 am to 3:15 pm.
AWIB will offer an information packed day with vital information on strategically leveraging one’s business to secure contracts with corporations, federal, state and local governments and public authorities. Over 400 attendees are expected for the day.
Opening remarks will be made by New York City Council Member John C. Liu who will address the importance of maximizing opportunities for minorities and women.
- Panel Discussions - Interactive discussions on Corporate, City, State & Federal Agencies & Public Authorities selling opportunities.
- Corporate Matchmaking - One-on-one meetings for pre-qualified vendors with buyers from over 20 corporations ranging from industries such as food, apparel, office equipment, technology and construction.
- Greening Your Business - Innovative workshop where participants will learn how going the green route can be another new avenue to success. “Greening Your Business” will cover everything from the basics of how to go green, marketing green products and services effectively, to ultimately winning green contracts.
- Exhibitors – Dozens of government agencies, public authorities, corporations and green suppliers will have displays. Attendees can learn about M/WBE certification, contracting opportunities and more.
